After a couple of weeks exploring the
Inside Passage mainly by ferry and foot, we're off to Interior
Alaska.
Had to set the clock for 3:45am to
catch a shuttle van for the early Alaska Air flight.
As Sitka is a big fishing vacation town
and with Alaska Air allowing three bags for free, many passengers had
three very large boxes of frozen fish to check onto the jet.
Stopped in Juneau, then off to
Anchorage. The pilot flew low (guessing 16,000 feet) over the
non-stop glaciers and ice fields that spread out for hundreds of
square miles. Absolutely the finest sight I've ever seen from the
air!
