Togwotee Pass

Camped for two days at Falls Campground near Togwotee Pass in the Wind River Range. Pretty basic natl forest facility, but what we like. Site surrounded by fields of wildflowers. At about 8500 feet elevation, pretty cold overnite but no problem with the camper heater and a blanket. It was 30 degrees when we departed about 6:15am but got to the mid 80's in Jackson Wy later that day.
The Falls

Hiking near Brooks Lake. While we drove out several forest roads into the back-country, we limited hiking into the woods as this is truly grizzly country. The campground host mentioned that a mama griz and cubs recently went thru the campground. Also talked to Wyoming camper who when hunting with son and daughter-in-law about a year ago was charged by a grizzly. Took about 15 seconds from first sight to charge. Two of them got their guns ready but the griz backed off. Read later that if shot, a grizzly will live long enough to attack and maul.
