Toured the civil war Vicksburg Battlefield in Mississippi including a restored iron clad similar to the Monitor and Merrimack.

We use the Yelp app to find unique restaurants as we travel.
Stayed in Monroe Louisiana taking in some good creole dishes.
Arriving in Texas we ate lunch at the Tex/Mex Terrell Cafe about 10 minutes off interstate.
After surviving the drive around Dallas we had a night at Wichita Falls. Never could find the falls.
Dinner at Chick-fil-A.
Heading north we had big deal time passing through Amarillo TX.
We spent about and hour in an antique RV museum.
Then we went to the world famous Cadillac Ranch where many of the caddies are planted nearly vertical in a field. Tourists stop and spray paint the vehicles.
And finally had lunch at a super popular little BBQ spot. That was some fine smoked sliced brisket.
Arrived at the Eklund Hotel in little Clayton New Mexico. This hotel is on the National Historic Register in use since the late 1800's. This was Thursday night western music night in the hotel restaurant and saloon.
Are you aware there there are volcanoes in Mew Mexico? Stopped at the Capulin Volcano National Monument on a cold but ultra clear day. We drove the road up to the top and Jeff took a mile hike around the crater.
Last travel night in Golden Colorado. Ate dinner at Chick-fil-A...the last one we'll see for more than a month (boo hoo).....
